Lined the shoulders, armholes, neckline, and yoke. Patched holes and reinforced deteriorating fabric. Sewed it all back together by hand.


Using antique indigo calico, tweezers, and patience, patched strap tears from rust damage and 90 years of wear. Repaired loss to chain stitching by hand. Replaced too-small leg patch. Hand-darned both legs extensively.




Removed extensive dry-rot damage (collar, shoulder, sleeve, cuff). Replaced entire left sleeve. Hand-sewed flat fell seam. Repaired and patched collar, undercollar, lining, and cuffs. Made it wearable again.

Hand-darned appliqued letters, blanket-stitched
remaining felt. Patched and hand-darned all holes.
Gave it life for 70 more years.






Hand-darned holes. Reinforced thinning areas with nearly-invisible darns. Rebuilt frayed and torn fabric surrounding all buttonholes before hand sewing the holes themselves so they’ll last for years.
